6. First school day

Today was the first school day after the South African summer holidays. For us, it also was our first school day at Bishops College. The day started in the school's chapel. The chapel is located at the centre of the school campus. After chapel, we went to Birt House for a house meeting. We were welcomed as exchange students and after the house meeting we went to Mr. Court who is Bishop's exchange coordinator. We had to choose our subjects. I chose Afrikaans, Life Sciences, Geography, and History. The rest of the day we could just chill out a bit. 
Bishops College consists of a lot of separate buildings located on one huge campus. The school works with a house system, meaning that the students are divided in different houses. As I mentioned above, we are in Birt House.

5. Day 1

 When I woke up this morning, the skies were blue and the sun was shining. While snow was falling in Holland, we were heading off to the school shop to get my uniform. I have to wear a blazer, tie, white shirt, khaki shorts, long socks, and dark brown smart shoes. I also got sport clothes. After the school shop, we went on a scenic drive past Camps Bay to a restaurant where we had breakfast. The restaurant had a really nice view over the ocean. As the temperature started rising, we went to the Waterfront, which basically is a big mall right next to the harbor. There's an aquarium next to the Waterfront, we went there together with all Dutch exchangees as well as their hosts. It was great. They had big sharks, huge crabs, penguins, and lots of other sea animals. After the aquarium, we playing cave golf, which is mini golf in an artificial cave. It was fun but it got really warm inside the cave, so we quit early. After the mini golf we had lunch in the sun. After lunch, we went to walk around in Victoria Wharf (mall at Waterfront).

4. Flight

We had to be at the airport at seven in the morning. We said goodbye to our parents and friends and walked around through Schiphol. The flight took 11.30 hours and was quite boring. We all watched films and series, but we were still bored. The food was nice. We had pasta for lunch and pizza for supper, we also got ice cream! During the flight we had great views of the Sahara Desert and saw a beautiful sunset! :) Below are some pictures of the flight.

3. Leaving tomorrow!

This will be my last message from Holland! :) Tomorrow, we need to be at Schiphol Airport at seven in the morning and we'll be flying for about eleven and a half hours. We've printed our boarding passes and I finished packing my bags. SA TOMORROW ! ! ! :D

2. Four days to go!

Only two school days and a weekend left, and then: off to South Africa! Unfortunately, we have to do a lot (!) of tests and other school work during these last few days in Holland - but it's for a good cause: SA ahead! I'm gonna start packing tomorrow and as I already said in my previous message: I'm SO EXCITED! :D

1. Countdown

It's the last day of Christmas break and there's only one week of school left until we leave for Cape Town. We're getting really excited by now and we can't wait until we see our South African friends again! :)
